Food Pantry Ministry
Our Food Pantry ministry members gather donated food items that parishioners drop off in the church each weekend. This team rotates the stock at the Food Pantry, and prepares some bags of groceries to be distributed directly to those who approach the Parish Office for food assistance.
Remaining food is transported to St. Joseph Parish and VISTE in Lakeland who operate regular food distribution to those in need. In November, during our annual Brown Bag Food Drive, we also give to Talbot House.
Saint Anthony Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop Ministry provides access to low cost items for those on a tight budget. We also minister directly to those in need by giving necessary items at no cost. We help protect the environment by keeping usable items out of the landfill. We need lots of helping hands to keep this ministry running smoothly. Come and help seasonally when you're here, all year round, or even just for our special Tent Sales a few times a year. Learn more about our Thrift Shop by clicking here.
Respect Life Committee
The Respect Life Committee meets once a month to disucss ways in which we can raise awareness of Respect Life issues in our parish community and beyond. We participate in local 40 Days for Life events, and we conduct prayer services and vigils at various times during the year to pray for the protection of all human life from conception to natural death.
St. Vincent De Paul
We need your help! Our St. Anthony conference is in its early formation stage but would like to have the company of a few more "Good samaritans". We are a group of Catholic lay men and women, from all walks of life, who come together in friendship, love and spirituality to provide service to the poor and needy in our local communities. No form of charity is foreign to the Society. It includes any form of help that alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity in all their dimensions. Through over 4400 local Conferences in the United States the Society serves those in need regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions.
"For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me." Matthew 25: 35-36
If you also feel God's call to serve, we meet in the Faith Development Center on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6:00 pm and would love to have the pleasure of your company.
