Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For by the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence, they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.

8th Grade Students
All 8th graders who are preparing for Confirmation must register in our faith formation program and complete a sacrament registration form.
Wednesday night middle school faith formation classes begin in September. These sessions are for 8 th graders who do not attend a Catholic school. That being said, all 8 th graders are highly encouraged to attend Wednesday night sessions.
In addition, starting in November, all 8th graders will meet the 1st Wednesday of the month until May, where they will target “Confirmation” topics. Those who begin preparation in the fall of 2020 will be confirmed in the fall of 2021.
The first Saturday in August is Confirmation retreat. Attendance is required. If your child does not attend retreat, they will be asked to find and attend a neighboring parishes “Confirmation” retreat.
Because this is a sacramental preparation year, we are much stricter on participation and attendance. Full attendance in weekly middle school classes and first Wednesday class is required, as well as attendance at Confirmation retreat in August of 2020.
Please note * Sacrament preparation does not take place in the school. It is a function of the Church.
Older Students and Adults
High School students, and adults who have not yet received the Sacraments of Initiation, should contact our Director of Faith Formation who will provide more information.
